Bermuda is a spring-to-fall destination, not a year-round one: a two-day sail off the US East Coast to pink-sand beaches, with ships calling April through November, often docked two or three nights in one spot. From December into March the island effectively closes. The short season is the whole decision. At 32°N Bermuda is subtropical, not tropical: daylight swings from about 14 hours at the June solstice to under 10 in December. The cruise season rides the long half of that curve. But by the October–November tail the day is near 11 hours and shrinking. The light, like the sea, favors summer.

September, if certainty matters to you. It's the statistical heart of Bermuda's hurricane threat, because the island sits where Atlantic storms curve north. A Bermuda-only itinerary often has no second port to swap in, so a reroute can mean extra sea days instead. The fares are honest about it: this is where the season's deep discounts live. October carries a fading version of the same risk, plus lumpier Gulf Stream crossings as fall fronts start rolling off the coast.
Bermuda's fireworms put on one of the ocean's strangest light shows: on the nights just after a summer full moon, about 56 minutes after sunset, the females spiral through sheltered bays glowing green. Most cruise calls would miss an after-dark show. But Bermuda ships routinely stay docked overnight, so a walk to a quiet stretch of shore on the right evening puts it genuinely in reach. The season runs roughly May through November; check the moon phase before you book anything.
They can be. This is open Atlantic, and every itinerary crosses the Gulf Stream, where the ride depends on wind against current. Summer crossings are usually the gentlest; spring and fall bring more fronts, and storm swell can reach the route during the August–October peak. Big stabilized ships handle it, but if you're motion-sensitive, midsummer is the better bet.

No line owns Bermuda. The big US East Coast lines all run it, mostly as round trips from the New York area, Boston, and Baltimore, and most itineraries dock at King's Wharf and stay a night or two. That overnight is the real differentiator: compare time in port, not just brand. The table below prices every upcoming sailing per cabin, which ranks them more honestly than any brochure can.
