What is Liberty of the Seas?
Liberty of the Seas is the second Freedom-class vessel operated by Royal Caribbean International, built at the Aker Yards Turku Shipyard in Finland and entering service in May 2007. Originally 154,407 GT and enlarged to 155,889 GT after a 2016 refurbishment, she accommodates 3,798 passengers at double occupancy. Known for her extensive sports facilities including a FlowRider, ice rink, and water slides, she is currently repositioning to Southampton for European summer sailings.

Her 2026 European season includes Spain/Portugal, Norway, Hamburg/Bruges, and Northern Europe itineraries from Southampton. She repositions back to Galveston in October 2026 for Western Caribbean itineraries.
What is the history of Liberty of the Seas?
Delivered to Royal Caribbean on April 19, 2007, Liberty made her first port call at Southampton on April 22, 2007. She underwent renovations in January 2011 and again in February 2016. Many interiors were decorated by muralist Clarissa Parish. She spent summers in Europe and winters in Miami or Fort Lauderdale until 2015, when she began summers at Cape Liberty, Bayonne, NJ. From October 31, 2026, she will home-port in Galveston, Texas.
