About Getxo, Spain
Getxo is a municipality on the western shore of the Abra bay at the mouth of the Nervión estuary, serving as the cruise port for Bilbao in the Basque Country. The Port of Bilbao built a dedicated cruise dock in Getxo, and the opening of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in 1997 drove a significant increase in cruise traffic to the region.
