The village is situated between terraces of vines and olives, and rolling hills. It is partially isolated from the rest of the country which makes it a quiet place. The town is well known for wine, which has been produced there since Roman times over 2,000 years ago. The village has several historic buildings which give it a unique charm. The region has a slightly cooler and mild climate than the other regions in the country. The village is small and a visitor can easily get around on foot and take the opportunity to enjoy the sights and beautiful scenery.
