Ulva Island (Te Wharawhara) is a small predator-free sanctuary island in Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island. Its ancient podocarp forest is home to rare kiwi, saddleback (tieke), Stewart Island robin, and yellow-crowned parakeet. Cruise passengers arrive by water taxi from Oban to walk the island's forest trails and observe wildlife at close range.
