Swansea is Wales's second city on the south coast of the Gower Peninsula, birthplace of poet Dylan Thomas. The Swansea Museum, Dylan Thomas Centre, the vibrant Marina district, and the stunning Gower Peninsula — Britain's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — are the main draws. The city was heavily bombed in WWII and substantially rebuilt.
