Svishtov is a town in northern Bulgaria, located in Veliko Tarnovo Province on the right bank of the Danube river opposite the Romanian town of Zimnicea. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Svishtov Municipality.

Svishtov is an ancient Danube River port town in northern Bulgaria, said to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. Aleko Konstantinov, creator of Bulgaria's beloved folk character Bay Ganyo, was born here. The town's museum, Roman ruins, and traditional Bulgarian architecture make it an interesting river cruise stop.
