Sundsvall is a city on the Gulf of Bothnia in central Sweden, known as the 'City of Stone' for its remarkable stone architecture built after a catastrophic fire in 1888. The Stenstan (Stone City) district is one of Sweden's finest examples of late 19th-century urban planning. Cruise ships use Sundsvall as a stop on Baltic cruises.
