San Jose Del Cabo cruise port guide

San José del Cabo is a resort city on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. It’s known for its sandy beaches and colonial buildings. The San José missionary church, rebuilt in 1940, faces Plaza Mijares in the heart of the historic district. Nearby art galleries exhibit work by local artists. East of the city is San José Estuary, a nature reserve with bird species like hummingbirds, ibis and herons.

About San Jose Del Cabo

San José del Cabo is the quieter, more traditional half of the Los Cabos destination at Baja California's southern tip. Together with Cabo San Lucas (20 km away), it forms the Los Cabos Corridor, one of Mexico's top resort destinations. San José del Cabo retains its colonial charm with art galleries, a historic town center, and proximity to the world-famous El Arco rock arch and exceptional sport fishing waters.

The headline attraction is El Arco rock arch at Land's End, reached by glass-bottom boat or kayak. World-class sport fishing is available year-round. Whale watching tours operate December through April. San José del Cabo's Thursday Art Walk showcases 20+ galleries. The Corridor's resort beaches, Medano Beach, and Chileno Bay offer swimming and snorkeling.
