About Royan
Royan is a seaside resort town on the Arvert Peninsula at the mouth of the Gironde estuary in southwestern France, known as the capital of the Côte de Beauté. Rebuilt in 1950s Modernist style after wartime bombing, it features five fine-sand beaches, a marina for over 1,000 vessels, and is an active CroisiEurope river cruise port.
Oceanic/Mediterranean mix; 2,250 hours of sunshine per year. Mild winters and warm but not excessive summers. Best visited June–September.
