Sankt Goarshausen is a town located in the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis in Nassau on the eastern shore of the Rhine, in the section known as the Rhine Gorge, directly across the river from Sankt Goar, in the German state Rhineland-Palatinate.

The Rhine Gorge (Oberes Mittelrheintal) is a 65 km stretch of the Middle Rhine between Bingen and Koblenz, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. The gorge is lined with medieval castles, terraced vineyards, and historic river towns. It is a key transit passage for European river cruises connecting Amsterdam and Basel, with numerous small towns serving as port calls.
