Ajaccio is the capital and largest city of Corsica, France. Birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1769, it is a sun-kissed Mediterranean city on the west coast of the island with a natural harbour, cruise terminal, boardwalk, and excellent restaurants.

The Maison Bonaparte on Rue Saint-Charles is the birthplace museum and the primary Napoleon pilgrimage site; Place Foch features the main market and a statue of Napoleon as First Consul.
