About Ponce, Puerto Rico

Ponce is Puerto Rico's second largest city, known as 'La Perla del Sur' (The Pearl of the South), located on the island's southern Caribbean coast. Founded in 1692, it is renowned for its distinctive Ponce Creole architecture and vibrant cultural heritage.

The Plaza Las Delicias — with its flamboyant red-and-black Parque de Bombas firehouse and the twin-towered cathedral — is the obligatory first stop. The Ponce Museum of Art houses an impressive European and Puerto Rican collection. The Tibes Indigenous Ceremonial Center preserves pre-Columbian ball courts, among the oldest in the Caribbean.
