About Peso da Regua

Peso da Régua (commonly known simply as Régua) is a town in the Douro Valley of northern Portugal, at the heart of the Port wine producing region. It serves as the main river cruise port on the Douro River, the gateway to UNESCO-listed Douro Valley vineyards. The town is approximately 100 km east of Porto.

The Museu do Douro provides context for the region's viticultural heritage. Numerous quintas offer cellar tours and tastings — Quinta do Crasto, Quinta dos Malvedos, and Quinta da Pacheca are among the most visitor-friendly. The Régua–Tua railway line provides one of Portugal's most scenic train journeys.
