Novi Sad cruise port guide
Novi Sad is a city in northern Serbia on the banks of the Danube River. Standing atop a riverside bluff, much of Petrovaradin Fortress dates to the 17th and 18th centuries, with an iconic clock tower and a network of tunnels. Across the river is the old quarter, Stari Grad, site of the Gothic Revival Name of Mary Church and the neo-Renaissance City Hall. ―
About Novi Sad
Novi Sad is the second-largest city in Serbia and capital of the Vojvodina province, situated on the Danube River between Budapest and Belgrade. Known as the 'Serbian Athens', the city features Austro-Hungarian architecture, the imposing Petrovaradin Fortress, and is a popular river cruise port. It hosted the Exit Festival and was a European Capital of Culture in 2022.
The Petrovaradin Fortress is the city's iconic landmark, dominating the right bank of the Danube and hosting the internationally renowned Exit Festival each July. Fruška Gora National Park, just 15 km away, shelters 16 medieval Orthodox monasteries among wooded hills. The city center's pedestrian Zmaj Jovina Street and the Danube promenade are ideal for strolling. The Museum of Vojvodina details the region's rich multi-ethnic history.
