About Mai Chau, Vietnam
Da Nang is Vietnam's fourth-largest municipality and major Central Vietnamese port city on the South China Sea coast, midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It is the gateway to the historic town of Hội An (45 km south), the Cham ruins of Mỹ Sơn, and the imperial capital of Huế (100 km north). The city's China Beach (My Khe) stretches nearly 40 km of white sand. Da Nang is also the departure point for inland excursions to Mai Chau, a scenic valley with traditional White Thai and Black Thai stilt house villages, paddy fields, and hill tribe culture in Hòa Bình Province.
