Madalena is the main port town on Pico Island in the Azores archipelago, Portugal. The island is dominated by Mount Pico (Pico Alto), Portugal's highest peak at 2,351 meters, and is UNESCO-listed for its historic wine-growing landscape of volcanic basalt lava fields. Madalena faces neighboring Faial island across a narrow channel and is a regular stop on Azores cruise itineraries.
