Luang Prabang cruise port guide
About Luang Prabang
Luang Prabang is a UNESCO World Heritage city in northern Laos, situated at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. It is a major destination on Mekong river cruises, renowned for its well-preserved French colonial architecture, gilded Buddhist temples, and the pre-dawn alms-giving ceremony of monks. The city combines Lao, Buddhist, and French colonial influences in a uniquely serene setting.
The best time to visit is the dry season from November to March, when temperatures are cooler and skies are clear. The monsoon season from June to September brings heavy rainfall that makes travel difficult and rivers high.
