Lipari cruise port guide

About Lipari

Lipari is the largest of the volcanic Aeolian Islands situated off the northeast coast of Sicily. The island is renowned for its Malvasia delle Lipari, a distinctive dessert wine with characteristic orange notes that has seen a resurgence in popularity since the 1980s following its peak before the phylloxera epidemic.

Visitors with an interest in viticulture will find Lipari's Malvasia delle Lipari wine a compelling draw — at its historical peak before the phylloxera epidemic, production exceeded 100,000 hectoliters annually. The volcanic landscape of the Aeolian Islands provides the dramatic backdrop for any visit.
