Lerici cruise port guide

Lerici is a town and comune in the province of La Spezia in Liguria, part of the Italian Riviera. It is situated on the coast of the Gulf of La Spezia, 8 kilometres southeast of La Spezia. It is known as the place where the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley drowned.

About Lerici

Lerici is a picturesque coastal resort on Italy's Riviera di Levante, situated at the eastern end of the Gulf of La Spezia in Liguria. Counted among I Borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy), it is known for its colourfully painted waterfront, medieval castle, and the mild Mediterranean climate that has drawn travellers since the Romantic era.

The twin castles of Lerici — Castello di Lerici on the promontory above the harbour and Castello di San Terenzo on the opposite shore — are the town's landmark monuments. The broader Italian Riviera setting provides access to beaches, scenic coastal walks, rock climbing, sailing, and yachting, with several marinas in the region. Lerici is also a convenient base for exploring the Gulf of La Spezia, the nearby UNESCO-listed Portovenere, Cinque Terre National Park, and the islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto.
