La Crosse, Wisconsin is home to the La Crosse Queen, one of the few authentic Mississippi River split sternwheel paddleboats still in operation in the United States, departing from Riverside Park. The current vessel, La Crosse Queen VII, was built in 2008 at Skipperliner Marine on French Island, Wisconsin, and is U.S. Coast Guard inspected and licensed for up to 149 passengers. Guests can choose from a variety of public and private river cruises ranging from daily sightseeing voyages to evening dinner and moonlight excursions on the Mississippi.
