Komiža is a Croatian coastal town lying on the western coast of the island of Vis in the central part of the Adriatic Sea. As of 2011 Komiža proper has a population of 1,397 while the entire municipality has 1,526 residents. Komiža is located at the foot of the Hum hill. Town has a Mediterranean climate.

Komiža is a port town on the island of Vis (Italian: Lissa) in the Adriatic Sea. The island was the site of the Battle of Lissa on 20 July 1866, the first major naval battle between ironclad warships, in which the Austrian fleet under Vice-Admiral Tegetthoff defeated the Italian fleet under Admiral Persano. The island has several bays and harbours, with Komiža on the southwest side.
