The Kinabatangan River is a river in Sandakan Division, northeastern Sabah of Malaysia. It is the second longest river in Malaysia with a length of 560 km from its headwaters in the mountains of southwest Sabah, to its outlet at the Sulu Sea, east of Sandakan.

The Kinabatangan River is in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. The area along the river retains fragments of lowland riverine rainforest in the Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, home to Borneo elephants, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and other endemic wildlife. The Kinabatangan-Segama Wetlands were gazetted as a Ramsar site in 2008 covering 78,000 hectares.
