Kemi, Finland cruise port guide
About Kemi, Finland
Kemi is a town in Finnish Lapland at the northernmost tip of the Gulf of Bothnia, established as a port town in 1869. It is known for the world-famous SnowCastle (Lumilinna), icebreaker cruises on the Sampo icebreaker, and the Kemi Gemstone Gallery.
Kemi has a subarctic climate with long, cold winters and warm, short summers. Its coastal location on the Gulf of Bothnia moderates the continental extremes. Winters are very cold with sea ice on the bay; summers are brief but can be pleasant.
