About Karnak

Luxor (ancient Thebes) is a city in Upper Egypt with a population of 284,952 (2023) and capital of Luxor Governorate. Nicknamed 'the world's greatest open-air museum', it contains the Karnak Temple complex and Luxor Temple on the east bank, and the Valley of the Kings on the west bank.
