About Isla de Providencia
Isla de Providencia is a mountainous Colombian island in the Caribbean Sea, situated approximately 50 km north of San Andrés and roughly 750 km north of the Colombian mainland. Together with San Andrés and Santa Catalina, it forms the department of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, which was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve — the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve — in 2000, protecting one of the Caribbean's most biodiverse marine ecosystems.
