About Isabela Island, Ecuador
Isabela Island is part of the Galápagos Archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated approximately 972 km off the Pacific coast of Ecuador. Among the most geologically active islands in the chain, Isabela and neighboring Fernandina are still in the process of formation through ongoing volcanic activity. The broader Galápagos group attracts around 200,000 visitors per year, drawn by endemic flora and fauna that inspired Charles Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection.
