Hornsund is a remote fjord location on the southwest coast of Spitsbergen, Svalbard, host to a Polish research station with a winter population of approximately 10 and a summer population of 20–30. Part of the Norwegian-administered Svalbard archipelago, it lies within a protected Arctic environment where roughly 60% of the surrounding land is glaciated and movement outside settlements is strictly regulated due to polar bears. It is visited by expedition cruise ships operating in Svalbard waters, subject to Norwegian regulations that cap ship passenger numbers at 200 per vessel.

The primary draw at Hornsund is the unspoiled Arctic environment. The fjord is hemmed in by glacially carved mountains and ice, consistent with the landform patterns across Svalbard where repeated ice ages shaped the terrain into dramatic fjords and peaks. The Polish research station itself is a point of interest. Svalbard hosts seven national parks and 23 nature reserves covering roughly two-thirds of the archipelago's land area; Hornsund sits within this protected zone. Wildlife present across Svalbard includes polar bears, Svalbard reindeer, Arctic foxes, seabirds, and certain marine mammals. All man-made objects older than 1946 are legally protected and may not be handled by visitors.
