About Foynes
Foynes is a small town on the Shannon Estuary in County Limerick, Ireland, historically significant as the first transatlantic commercial air terminal in the world during the 1930s and 1940s when flying boats operated here. The Flying Boat and Maritime Museum commemorates this history. Cruise ships call here for access to the Irish countryside and the Shannon region.
