The Dardanelles, also known from Classical Antiquity as the Hellespont , is a narrow, natural strait and internationally significant waterway in northwestern Turkey that forms part of the continental boundary between Europe and Asia, and separates Asian Turkey from European Turkey.

About Dardanelles and Bosporus

The Bosphorus is a natural strait in Turkey connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, and together with the Dardanelles forms the Turkish Straits. Istanbul straddles the Bosphorus and is a major cruise destination. The strait is 31km long with a minimum width of 700m.
