My Khe Beach ("China Beach") stretches nearly 40 km south from the city toward Hoi An, offering swimming and sunbathing along one of Vietnam's most celebrated coastlines. The Dragon Bridge is an unmistakable city landmark spanning the Han River in the commercial downtown. The Sơn Trà Peninsula—also called Monkey Mountain—is a dedicated nature reserve to the city's north and one of the last refuges for the critically endangered, vividly coloured red-shanked douc monkey.
