Cabo Rojo
Cabo Rojo cruise port guide
About Cabo Rojo
Cabo Rojo is a cape on the southwestern coast of the Dominican Republic in Pedernales Province, the country's southernmost province. Known for its bauxite mines and beautiful beaches including Bahía de las Águilas, a major new cruise ship port opened here in 2024.
Bahía de las Águilas is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic — a remote, long stretch of sand surrounded by dry tropical forest and turquoise water. Cabo Rojo beach itself is also noteworthy. The bauxite mines reflect the industrial history of the region.
