About Busselton
Busselton is a city of approximately 28,000 people on Geographe Bay in the South West region of Western Australia, about 220 km south-west of Perth. Famous for the Busselton Jetty — the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere — and proximity to the Margaret River wine region, the city is visited by cruise ships 8–12 or more times a year.
The Busselton Jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, is the iconic attraction — restored for tourism with a jetty train and an underwater observatory. Snorkeling around the jetty pylons is popular. The Busselton Visitor Centre and Railway Museum at 17 Foreshore Parade houses one of Australia's earliest locomotives. The Margaret River wine region lies to the south, offering world-class wineries, caves (Ngilgi Cave at Yallingup), and coastal scenery. Local breweries Rocky Ridge and Shelter Brewing Co. are popular stops. Wonnerup House and the Old Butter Factory museum offer local history. XCape at the Cape Fun Park (water park, laser tag) caters to families.
