Bintulu is a coastal town on the island of Borneo in central Sarawak, Malaysia, known as the 'Energy Town of Sarawak' due to its major LNG and oil industry presence. The Port of Bintulu is the busiest in Sarawak. Expedition cruise passengers who call here have access to Similajau National Park, with pristine beaches and wildlife, as well as the historic Council Negri monument marking the site of the first Sarawak General Council meeting in 1867.
