Bernkastel-Kues is a picturesque twin town on the Middle Mosel in Rhineland-Palatinate, renowned for its wine-growing and well-preserved medieval market square. A popular stop on Moselle river cruises, passengers explore the half-timbered buildings, the ruins of Burg Landshut castle, the medieval St.-Nikolaus-Hospital founded in 1451, and world-famous wineries including Bernkasteler Doctor. The town lies roughly 50 km from Trier.
