Annaba, Algeria cruise port guide

About Annaba, Algeria

Annaba is a seaport city in northeastern Algeria near the Tunisian border, with a metropolitan population of about 1 million people, making it Algeria's third-largest city. Known historically as Hippo Regius, it was the city where Saint Augustine served as bishop from 396 AD until his death in 430 AD. The city features a lively waterfront promenade (Cours de la Révolution) lined with arcaded restaurants, cafes, and kiosks.

Annaba has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen Csa) with long, hot, dry summers—especially from mid-July to mid-August—and mild, wet winters. Rain is abundant by North African standards and can be torrential in winter. Best cruise months are April through June and September through October.
