After devastating damage during World War II, Rotterdam has grown into a vibrant, forceful city dotted with first division cultural attractions. Alesund — Day 3 Oct 18, 2027 Alesund 10:00 – 21:00 11.0 hrs ashore Visiting Ålesund on an MSC cruise of Northern Europe means plunging into a fairytale atmosphere. Equally exciting is a three hour round rail trip from Andalsnes to Dombas on the Rauma Railway line. The imposing Nidarosdomen (Nidaros Cathedral) dates back to the 12th century and was a pilgrimage site throughout the entire Medieval period. What we see today is the result of meticulous restoration lasting one hundred years that was completed in 1970.
