Day 1 Sep 22, 2026 London (Tilbury) Departs 17:00 London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Day 4 Sep 25, 2026 Flam 07:30 – 18:00 10.5 hrs ashore To reach Flåm, your MSC cruise ship will navigate into the Sognefjord, the longest of the hundreds of Norwegian fjords. Extending over 204 kilometres and 1,308 metres deep, it is a record breaking fjord in which your ship will head southward, to reach the southern end of the Aurlandsfjord. At this point of your MSC cruise of Northern Europe you will see Flåm, amidst mountains of dense forest reaching up to the sky. In this challenging and remote setting you can see how even a modern means of locomotion like the train can blend in with Norway's pectacular natural landscape. Take a train ride from Flåm to Kjosfossen: 20 incredible kilometres inside the green coaches up to the station of Myrdal on the Bergen railway line. The landscapes you will admire are truly unique and will make your journey unforgettable. Day 5 Sep 26, 2026 Nordfjordeid 09:00 – 19:00 10.0 hrs ashore Nestled peacefully at the end of one of Norway’s most beautiful waterways, Nordfjordeid is a picturesque, hidden gem. Wander the old centre of town to find white-painted buildings brimming with cafés, restaurants, bakeries and shops, or discover unique architecture at the modern opera house or the 19th century Eid Church – home to spectacular carvings and intricate paintings. At the Sagastad Viking heritage centre you can interact with fascinating exhibits and step aboard the Myklebust, an authentic 100-foot-long replica ship based on the remains of one of the largest Viking ships ever unearthed. Visiting in the summer? Why not relax in the lush Saga Park which has its own beach by the fjord? Despite Nordfjordeid’s sleepy charm, this small village is big on adventure. Connect with the marine environment on a kayaking tour, go fishing for huge monkfish, wolf fish and mackerel, or ride a Fjord horse – one of the world’s oldest pure breeds. Day 6 Sep 27, 2026 Andalsnes 08:00 – 18:00 10.0 hrs ashore Åndalsnes is located at the mouth of the river Rauma, at the shores of the Romsdalsfjord, one of the fjords protected as a UNESCO world heritage site. Famous in the 19th century for salmon fishing, the Rauma flows through the Romsdalen Valley widely considered some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of Norway. Although the river’s salmon stocks are now being replenished, today Andalsnes is better known as a centre of excellenece for Norwegian alpine sports. Mountaineering, climbing, hiking and even base jumping are all readably accessible. A newly opened Norwegian Mountaineering centre boasts Norway’s highest indoor climbing wall. Some 15 kms out of Andalsnes is the Trollstigen (Troll Road), a mountain road that climbs the pass between the Isterdalen and Valldal valley. It’s one of Norway’s major attractions due to the steep inclines and eleven hairpin bends, only open in the summer months. Equally exciting is a three hour round rail trip from Andalsnes to Dombas on the Rauma Railway line. A feast for the eyes from the comfort of a carriage, mountains, valleys and waterfalls come into sight, as the route follows the Rauma river. Trains thoughtfully slow down at the most photogenic spots. A feat of civil engineering the track passes over countless bridges and through tunnels, the train even performs a 180 degree turn underground. Easily missed, look out at the train station in Andalsnes for a chapel converted from an old red "Intercity Special" railway carriage. The only train chapel in Norway and perhaps the world! Day 8 Sep 29, 2026 Sandnes, Norway 08:00 – 17:00 9.0 hrs ashore Known as the gateway to the Helgeland coast – a spectacular stretch of mountainous coastline dotted with a myriad of islands – Sandnessjøen, on Alsta Island, is arguably most famous for its proximity to the striking Seven Sisters mountain range. According to legend, the seven side-by-side peaks are troll sisters who were turned to stone in the sunlight. Each mountain can be climbed individually, with peaks ranging from 910 metres (Breitinden) to 1,072 metres (Brotnkrona), or experienced climbers can take on the challenge of all seven. The views from the top of each peak are magnificent, offering vistas across Nordland and the Viga Archipelago. Outside of the Seven Sisters, the Petter Dass Museum is a local highlight, situated towards the south of the island of Alsta. Petter Dass was one of the country’s best-loved poets and also a priest, and the museum pays tribute to his life and works throughout a number of buildings, from the original 18th century vicarage to the modern museum building which overlooks the water.
