Day 1 Jul 19, 2026 Reykjavik, Iceland Departs 22:00 Reykjavík is mirrored in the waters of its bay, as you can see when your cruise ship sets anchor in the port. The quays along the seafront host a variety of shops, live music clubs and cafés. Take a stroll down Frakkastigur up to Lækjartorg, to admire the Sólfar, also known as the Sun Voyager, a large modern steelsculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason, that represents a Viking vessel, with the bow pointing towards the north. Go back in history as you reach the historic centre, in the districts of Aðalstræti and Suðurgata, where you can still see the remains of some primitive Icelandic dwellings. Also the church of Hallgrímur, probably the most important architectural monument in Reykjavik, is worth a visit. Day 3 Jul 21, 2026 Djupivogur, Iceland 08:00 – 17:00 9.0 hrs ashore Slow the pace, and discover the refreshing approach to life that Djupivogur has made its trademark. You can leave your phone behind as you step out into this Icelandic town, which has won awards celebrating its leisurely outlook and stubborn rebellion against the frenetic pace of modern life. After all, who needs emails and notifications when you have some of the most humbling monochrome scenery and gashed fjords, waiting on your doorstep? Sitting on a peninsula to the south-east of Iceland, the glacial approach to life here wins many hearts. A place where hammers knock on metal in workshops, artists ladle paint onto canvases, and wild ponies roam across mountains, Djupivogur is an uninhibited artistic hub - full of makers and creatives. The most expansive project is the 34 egg sculptures that dot the coastline, created by the Icelandic artist, Sigurður Guðmundsson. Each egg represents a different native bird species. Fishing remains the primary industry, and you can savour the soft fruits of the labour in restaurants serving up smoked trout and fish soup within their cosy confines. Wander the surrounding landscapes, where snow-freckled mountains rise, and lazy seals lie on dark rock beaches, to feel Djupivogur's natural inspiration seeping under your skin. Alive with greens and golds in summer, further ventures reveal bright blue glaciers and the sprawling waterfalls of Vatnajökull National Park. The cliff-hugging puffins of Papey Island are a short boat ride away, while Bulandstindur Mountain's pyramid shape is a stand out even among these fairy-tale landscapes.

Day 4 Jul 22, 2026 Runavik (Faroe Isles) 12:00 – 20:30 8.5 hrs ashore Originally a fishing port, Kongshavn harbor on the southern end of Eysturoy, the Faroes’ second-largest isle, is now a major staging port for the North Sea oil platforms as well. Runavik’s buildings are scattered across an alluvial fan below looming, green-clad peaks beside the Skalafjordur fjord. The mountainous island is criss-crossed with hiking trails, some of which date from Viking times. The main attraction for visitors is the grandeur of nature, along with the birds and animals that inhabit the island. Lake Toftavatn is one place to see them, on a Ventures by Seabourn hike. A drive around the island will include views of 2,890-foot Mt. Day 6 Jul 24, 2026 South Queensferry 08:00 – 23:00 15.0 hrs ashore Eight miles north-west of Edinburgh city centre is the small town of South Queensferry, located at the southern end of the two mighty Forth Bridges. When you are cruising the North Sea with MSC Cruises, South Queensferry will be your port of call. It’s an attractive old settlement, with a narrow, cobbled High Street lined with tightly packed buildings, most of which date from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The history of Edinburgh, and indeed of Scotland, is indissolubly bound up with its castle, which dominates the city from its lofty seat atop an extinct volcanic rock. The disparate styles of the fortifications reflect the change in its role from defensive citadel to national monument, and today, as well as attracting more visitors than anywhere else in the country, the castle is still a military barracks and home to Scotland’s Crown Jewels. Day 10 Jul 28, 2026 Haugesund 07:00 – 16:00 9.0 hrs ashore With Norway possessing countless famous natural landmarks—its glorious fjords practically enjoy celebrity status—the town of Haugesund, in the southern county of Rogaland, can be overlooked despite its history as a center of the country’s Viking rulers. Norway’s first king, Harald Fairhair, whose rule began in the latter half of the 9th century, lived nearby, and he and several other early kings are buried in a mound here along the Karmsundet Strait. Today, Norwegians know the town as a cultural center with popular music and film festivals, as well as for being a beneficiary of Norway’s petroleum wealth. As in many Scandinavian port towns, a long row of handsome old commercial buildings line the Smedasundet waterfront; today, they house busy restaurants. A block inland, the Haraldsgata pedestrian street has a folk museum, the brick Our Savior’s Church and plenty of shopping. At the edge of town, a huge granite obelisk erected in 1872 commemorates the 1,000th anniversary of the seminal Battle of Hafrsfjord, when Harald Fairhair led his forces to victory and united Norway in the process. Day 11 Jul 29, 2026 Molde, Norway 09:00 – 18:00 9.0 hrs ashore Picturesque Molde, dating back to 1742, is situated on the northern bank of Molde's fjord, sheltered from the Norwegian Sea. Molde enjoys, as a beautiful backdrop, the mighty range of the snow-capped Romsdal Mountains. These peaks provide for an unusually temperate climate, in fact mild enough to have earned Molde the title of “City of Roses.” This climate, warmed by the distant Gulf Stream, also accounts for Molde's popularity as a tourist destination for the last 100 years. Apart from this gorgeous setting, Molde offers attractive parks and gardens. This city suffered from severe bombing raids during World War II and when reconstruction took place, city planners left more than adequate open space. Gardens sprang up everywhere, including on the rooftops of new government buildings! There's enough jazz in Molde to brighten even the darkest winter nights. This music is highlighted during the annual Molde Jazz Festival when musicians come from far and wide to jam. Nearby points of interest include such destinations as the Romsdal Museum with its notable collection of old timbered dwellings. A superb view over the area can be had from 1,300-foot-high Varden Hill. On a clear day, from this vantage point, you can see some 87 mountain peaks--or so claim the local townspeople. In town, favorite attractions include the 1960s Town Hall and the Molde Cathedral which was constructed in the 1950s. Some famous former citizens of Molde include the Norwegian dramatist, Henrik Ibsen. He was considered probably the country's most influential figure in modern theater. Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsone was also a citizen of Molde. Though most famous in Scandinavia, this Norwegian writer is revered around the world as the seminal figure of 19th-century Norwegian literature. One of the destinations of your vacation in Olden is the Briksdal glacier, an emanation of the Jostedalbreen, the largest in Norway, protected within the national park by the same name. The landscape is extraordinary and in the late spring months there are a an endless number of waterfalls, that form with the melting of the ice, and flowers around the edges. It is possible to reach a lake of a unique blue colour, where the front of a glacier rests. If you like truly adventurous experiences instead you should go to the Lodalen valley to reach the Kjenndelglacier. Here you find imposing mountains and no trace of human presence, besides yourself. During the excursion you can navigate along the peaceful waters of the Loen on board a rubber dinghy. The last stretch is cover on foot up to the first offshoots of the Kjenndal glacier. Or else, considering we’re in northern Europe, why not go all the way to the Norwegian Glacier Center. From Olden you head south towards Skei, a large village on the hill that dominates Lake Jolster. The mountain walls drop almost a thousand metres vertically along the 42 kilometres of coast, for that is the depth of the sea in this narrow passage. Also because from here one can admire one of the most famous attractions in Norway, the Preikestolen (the Pulpit), a rocky outcrop soaring 600 metres above the fjord. With an hour and half’s walk from the driveway you can reach this exceptional work of nature . Another tourist attraction is Kjerag, a peak rising 1100 metres above sea level that dominates the Lysefjord, with its northern face plummeting into the sea. But it’s a little lower down, at about 980 metres that you find a natural masterpiece generated by the elements: the Kjeragbolten, a massive rock jammed between two rock faces.
