Day 3 Oct 6, 2028 St. John, New Brunswick, Canada 10:00 – 18:00 8.0 hrs ashore Saint John, on the southern coast of New Brunswick, is Canada’s oldest incorporated city as well as the only city on the Bay of Fundy. Give your stroll through uptown Saint John a little focus by taking the self-guided Loyalist Trail walking tour, which visits historic attractions like the 1784 Burial Grounds, the 1876 Old City Market, a general store and the Jewish Historical Museum. The New Brunswick Museum, also along the Loyalist Trail, tells the story of the town and exhibits cover some of its natural history, too, with an 80,000-year-old mastodon skeleton. The Martello Tower has been part of Saint John's identity since it was erected for the War of 1812; it was even used to house prisoners during World War I. The most exciting part of your trip to Saint John may be your chance to view the point at which the Bay of Fundy and the Saint John River collide: the Reversing Falls Rapids. If simply observing the churning waves and whirlpool is not enough, ride a zip line over the waters for added thrills.

Inside the star-shaped citadel, you can explore the history of Halifax on guided tours. The museum staff, dressed as soldiers of the army and navy, will show you the clothes used in the past and other items in maritime activities. To the south-west of the city, your MSC cruise will offer you an excursion to one of the most beautiful and evocative settings on the Atlantic coast, the small village of Peggy's Cove, famous for its red lighthouse that was built in 1868. Day 7 Oct 10, 2028 Charlottetown, Canada 09:00 – 18:00 9.0 hrs ashore Known as the birthplace of Canada, owing to its role as host of the conference that would eventually lead to the formation of the Canadian Confederation - Charlottetown is a celebration of all things Great White North. Perched just offshore on Prince Edward Island, there’s a small-town charm to the locals’ genuine smiles that is instantly disarming. Despite its capital status, the city’s welcoming demeanour, pretty timber lighthouses and low-key coastal location, make Charlottetown an easy-going, idyllic island escape. 1864 saw Charlottetown lead the Confederation Conference, welcoming delegations from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island to Province House. Together, they thrashed out the plan to create the Dominion of Canada, which was formally enacted three years later. This key role in the birth of the nation is worn proudly as a badge of honour here, and the gargantuan Confederation Centre of the Arts pays tribute to this historic chapter, while also providing space for contemporary cultural pursuits to shine. The auburn pigtails of Anne of Green Gables are also a regular sight around these parts. Canada’s much loved, longest-running musical, premiered right here in Charlottetown in 1965. Day 9 Oct 12, 2028 Baie-Commeau, Quebec, Canada 08:00 – 17:00 9.0 hrs ashore Situated on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River near the mouth of the Manicouagan River, Baie-Comeau could hardly be in a more delightful spot. Beauty abounds, with sparkling river waters flowing, verdant forests unfolding and a network of bike paths crisscrossing the town, linking parks and meandering by pretty buildings. With such impressive natural surroundings, perhaps it is no wonder that Baie-Comeau is named after a naturalist: Napoléon-Alexandre Comeau, who hailed from Quebec. The region’s first sawmill was built in 1898, and Baie-Comeau was founded in 1936 with the establishment a paper mill, built by Robert R. McCormick, publisher of the Chicago Tribune. Day 10 Oct 13, 2028 Saguenay 07:00 – 17:00 10.0 hrs ashore The gateway to the Saguenay Fjord, the city lies at the intersection of a triad of sprawling national parks, amid some of North America’s most impressive scenery.
