Day 1 Mar 25, 2028 London (Tilbury) Departs 17:00 London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with history stretching back to Roman times. At its centre stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic ‘Big Ben’ clock tower and Westminster Abbey, site of British monarch coronations. Across the Thames River, the London Eye observation wheel provides panoramic views of the South Bank cultural complex, and the entire city.

Day 4 Mar 28, 2028 Leixoes, Portugal 08:00 – 13:00 5.0 hrs ashore Porto, Portugal's second largest city after Lisbon, is one of Europe's oldest cities and was registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996. Of course, Porto's name itself hints at perhaps Portugal's most famous export—port—for it is here that the fortified wine was first produced. The city is reminiscent of times gone by and you wouldn’t be far wrong to liken it to an ideal Shakespearean backdrop. Here, the skyline is composed of sky-high bell towers, opulent baroque churches and majestic beaux art buildings, which combine to create a romantic air that’s only heightened by the glorious shafts of sunlight that illuminate the city.

Day 6 Mar 30, 2028 Funchal 09:00 – 17:00 8.0 hrs ashore As you arrive in Funchal on an MSC cruise, your ship will cast anchor in a bay protected by mountains rising straight up behind the port. The name, Funchal, derives from that of the fennel plant, the funcho still used today in the traditional sweets known as rebuçados de funcho, that one can find anywhere on the island of Madeira. An excursion will take you around the town centre, to visit historic churches, from the A Sé Cathedral, with its inlaid ceiling, to the majestic Church of the Incarnation, to the church of Carmo without a vault. Another MSC excursion will take you up to the village of Monte, from where one can admire a spectacular view of the Funchal bay. You can visit its 18th century church and the tomb of the last Austrian emperor, Charles I, and stroll around the magnificent botanic gardens. But if you like heights, there’s nothing more impressive than the Cabo Girão and its 589 metre tall cliffs, amongst the highest in the world, at the foot of which lie the cultivated lands known as Fajãs do Cabo Girão. If you’re looking for an equipped beach during your MSC cruise, another excursion will take you to Machico. Founded in the 15th century, it hosts the oldest religious building on the island, the Capela dos Milagres, and the fortresses of São João Baptista and Nossa Senhora do Amparo built in the beginning of the 16th century. The more lively tourist attraction is instead in Calheta, on the south-west coast. Splendid yachts cruising across the Atlantic are moored in the port and if you want to go for a swim there are two beautiful beaches of golden sand; in spite of the modern structures Calheta dates back to the mid-15th century. Day 12 Apr 5, 2028 El Ferrol 08:00 – 18:00 10.0 hrs ashore The Spanish city of El Ferrol in La Coruna province of Galicia, is named after the lighthouse that marks the entrance to the city’s harbour. Ferrol has been one of northern Spain’s most important seafaring cities since the time of Bourbon rule and is now a major naval shipbuilding and fishing centre. Impressive warships can often be seen being built, repaired and dismantled in Ferrol’s harbour. The quiet, compact city has a welcoming, laid back feel to it. The charming narrow streets are easy to navigate and are lined with many small shops and places to relax or get refreshment. The La Magdalena district - officially declared an area of national historic and artistic interest – has rows of delightful parallel streets created during the city’s enlightenment, and two large squares that feature beautiful 18th century houses and modernist style buildings. The Castle of San Filipe is a popular attraction that hints at Ferrol’s military past.
