Hurtigruten

Hurtigruten (formally Kystruten Bergen-Kirkenes) is Norway's iconic public coastal route, operating year-round between Bergen and Kirkenes with 34 northbound ports of call. Founded in 1893 by government contract to improve communications along Norway's jagged coastline, Hurtigruten AS currently operates seven ships on the route alongside Havila Kystruten's four vessels. The service transports both local passengers and cargo while also attracting international tourists drawn to the dramatic Norwegian scenery.
